The wedding Experience

Cameras have a way of changing people. No one knows why, but they do.

You drop the chat, abandon the joke. You choose ‘your side’, you do ‘the smile’...

And we never really connect with those photos, do we? It’s you- but it’s not really you

So as your wedding photographer, I’ll never be ‘the photographer’.

I’ll hold my camera near my body, and move casually through the crowd (special thanks to the flippy screen!) I’m quick like a cat, stealthy like a ninja, and friendly like a labradoodle.

And I’ll never- and I mean never!- interrupt.

I want to capture people laughing- really laughing. Really smiling, really crying, really them. Giving you personal, meaningful photos of all your favourite people.

Unaware, unfiltered, and unchanged.

I’ll give you some photos that are a little different…

The kinda photos you can’t stop looking at- where it all comes together like some beautiful accident- the colours, the layering, the light.

Where whole stories are told in a frame.

When the drinks are flowing, and you’re chatting away, I’ll go for a little wander through the crowd. Looking to give you something beyond the cookie-cut ordinary- something artful, interesting, different.

When I find it, I’ll borrow a few tricks from my street photography. Carefully finding my frame, and waiting for something to happen within it.

A fun mini-episode, a moment, a memory.

Not creating beautiful moments- but giving your moments space, and then creating something beautiful.

you absolutely took our breath away with your work

I’ve always been a sucker for a side-story.

Spilled drinks, cheeky little lad chats, kids playing together, people laughing. Buzzing conversations between years-apart friends.

It’s like in films, you know? The stories within the story; the colour between the lines.

So in-between the epic moments, I’ll find the little ones. Hands touching, people connecting. A knowing smile during the speeches, or someone quietly lost in thought.
When you look through your album together, you’ll get to experience your day in a whole new way.

Not just the bits you were there for, but all of it. The big moments and the small, the loud and the peaceful, the wild and the calm.

Pulling you into each memory- and letting you relive your day with every turn of the page.

thank you for making our day all the more memorable with your kindness and warmth

MY APPROACH

It all starts with a chat

All the best photos are born from connection. Your connection with each other, with your guests, with me.

So before we jump into the photos, let’s get to know each other properly.

I want to hear all about your love story, your love language, and all the things that are important to you and if you want to have an engagement shoot to break the ice? Even better!

When your day comes, we’ll hug hello like old friends. Ready to enjoy the best day of your lives, together.

Your wedding morning

The morning is all about finding the balance. Big hugs, big smiles, I want to put you at ease, not scare the bejeezus out of you!

I’ll make friends with your family, and lend a helping hand. Dialling-in to who’s who- and getting to know you, the way they see you.

When everyone’s relaxed, confident, and comfortable, I’ll take out my camera and start choosing my moments.

Pose free portraits

Personally, I hate having my photo taken and the idea of dragging you away from your friends, telling you where to stand, how to stand, when to kiss…I’ll be honest, it gives me the ick!

So let's just go for a wander, shall we? We’ll find some space away from the crowds, and I’ll capture you just being you. The easy conversation, the accidental kisses, the walking cuddles.

Bottling up that feeling of being alone, and finally being married! And all those fragile moments- when the world falls away and all you see is each other. Couple portraits normally take place over 2, 10-15 minute windows over the course of the day.

The bits in between

I think a wedding album should tell a story- one that has a beginning, a middle, and an end.

The morning with your besties. Prosecco flowing, and nostalgic bangers; old stories, new memories, and old friends.

That electric first kiss, that *just married* buzz. Beaming smiles in a shower of confetti.

You’ll see conversations and catch-ups. The energy of the evening, spilled drinks, and drunken antics. and all the small moments in between.

That’s my whole thing, I guess. Hanging back, blending in, and giving you room. Telling the true story of your day, from beginning to end.

let's make something
