Natural, relaxed photography for the quietly joyful moments that matter most.
There’s something so brilliant about photographing a proposal especially in London. The adrenaline, the build-up, the hush right before it happens…and then, just like that, pure joy. Raw, real, a bit shaky (in the best way) and usually followed by one partner in a daze of happy disbelief while the other beams like a kid who got away with something huge.
That’s exactly what it felt like when Spencer proposed to Elizabeth.
Spencer and Elizabeth are from Ottawa, Canada, and were visiting London before heading off to Denmark and Sweden to see family. A few weeks before their trip, Spencer reached out to me through my website. He had a plan and a very specific vision: something beautiful, quiet, and meaningful. Not flashy or over-the-top. Just… them.
We landed on the English Gardens in Regent’s Park. I actually spend a lot of my lunch breaks here when I’m working in Soho (when I get a lunch break, that is). There’s something grounding about a walk through nature, especially in the middle of London and I knew it would be the perfect setting for a moment like this.

The morning of the proposal, we had a slight hiccup the first location we’d scoped out was a little busier than expected (classic London chaos), but Spencer was cool under pressure. We pivoted quickly and found a more tucked-away spot. Honestly? It worked out even better.
The actual proposal was quiet, heartfelt, and filled with the kind of emotion you don’t need to stage. Just two people, very much in love, in their own little world for a moment.
Afterwards, we walked together through the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden, taking photos and chatting as we went. I always love this part when the nerves have passed and I get to know the couple as they float a few inches off the ground. Spencer and Elizabeth work in politics, and they had an incredible day planned: a visit to the Churchill War Rooms and then champagne at Fortnum & Mason. As you do!
They were so easy together complimentary in that unspoken, natural way. I could tell this was a big moment in their story, and it felt like such a joy to witness it unfold.
I hit 10,000 steps before midday. A win for both love and the Garmin.
